Details of the Vacancies are as below:
Location: Ludhiana
Position: DMO (Dialysis Medical Officer) Cum ACM (Assistant Clinical Manager)
Company: Reputed Corporate Chain for Dialysis and Kidney Centres.
Qualification: MBBS (Prefer Local Candidate)
Reports to: Nephrologists & GFA (Group Facility Administrator)
Registration: MCI or respective State Medical Council
Experience: Any
Package: 50-55K /Month (Negotiable upon the experience)
Job Responsibilities: FOR DMO – MEDICAL CARE
ü  Conduct daily rounds of the dialysis unit; examine Electronic Medical Reports of patients; ensure that the instructions of the Nephrologist are being adhered to, in all cases.
ü  Perform supervisory role to Technicians in ensuring that all sterile precautions are met; patient safety protocols are adhered to, in terms of patient conditions, vitals and using medical equipment.
ü  Attend to possible complications (bleeding from fistula, hypotension etc.) developed by patients while undergoing the dialysis procedure.
ü  Assist Nephrologists in medical procedures such as inserting catheter, fistula/graft insertion etc.
ü  Conduct pre- and post-dialysis analysis of vitals, weight and other relevant tests and identify patterns of singularity that might need medical attention.
ü  Order necessary monthly tests for dialysis patients; closely monitor and evaluate lab investigation reports to understand possible future complications.
ü  Closing the dialysis procedure as per protocol; further to ensuring that all information is updated and monitored.
ü  Receive new patients in the Nephrology OPD in the absence of the Nephrologist; conduct initial diagnosis and refer to the concerned specialist.
ü  Assist the OT doctor in surgical procedures, as and when required.
ü  Supervise and ensure implementation of emergency protocol (following instructions on operating emergency trolley, ensuring technicians are trained in BLS etc.) in the absence of the in-duty Nephrologist.
PATIENT CARE
ü  Educate and counsel patients on the procedures involved in the course of dialysis treatment; clarifying their concerns and questions about the treatment.
ü  Refer the patient to the in-house dietician and /or psychologist in cases of modifications required in dietary plans or need to handle emotional stress.
ü  Conduct daily rounds in the dialysis centre and monitor the progress of all patients undergoing dialysis therapy.
ü  Process and Quality
ü  Update in-patient and out-patient history and diagnosis data in Electronic Medical Reports and/ or specific files for current and future reference.
ü  Ensure updation of records in the EMR for all patients before and after every dialysis procedure.
ü  Ensure adherence to NABH standards and other relevant quality standards in all processes.
ü  Staff and Facility Management
ü  Act as the on-call doctor for all medical related matters of the Nephrology department; in the absence of the Sr. Nephrologist
ü  Advise the Dialysis Therapy Manager / Asst. Dialysis Manager on medical matters relating to facility and infrastructure, based on recommendations from Sr. Nephrologist
ü  Train and mentor junior DMOs
ü  Provide performance-related feedback to indirect reports
FOR ASSISTANT CLINICAL MANAGER – MEDICAL CARE
ü  Ensure dialysis adequacy by therapists; conduct monthly investigation through panels to understand areas of improvement in terms of personnel as well as infrastructure.
ü  Collaborate with additional support services (Housekeeping, Admin etc.) to provide a safe, clean and secure environment for patient, staff and visitors.
ü  Oversee scheduling of dialysis sessions for patients; provide guidance to technicians
ü  Participate in daily rounds with DMOs; so as to ensure accuracy of instructions and adherence to them; by Technicians; as well as to inform DMOs about patient conditions on a consistent basis.
ü  Evaluate and set standards and protocols for facilities and equipments, and monitor utilization of equipment and supplies (consumables); ensure that the protocol is being adhered to, in the usage of infrastructure.
ü  Supervise procurement of all necessary equipment and consumables for the dialysis unit, as and when required
ü  Initiate periodic protocol reviews in conjunction with the DMOs and resident Nephrologists
ü  Supervise maintenance / troubleshooting and preventive maintenance activities for the equipment and infrastructure within the unit
ü  Provide assistance in the orientation and practice of emergency procedures, fire drill, evacuation procedures and internal/ external disaster plans and procedures.
ü  Co-ordinate with Lab Executive for analysis of prescribed tests for dialysis patients
ü  Assist the OT Surgeon and Technician in procuring equipment and consumables as and when required.
PATIENT CARE
ü  Responsible for safety and comfort of patients; as well as the health and safety of employees assigned in the dialysis unit.
ü  Monitor needs of patients (dietary, psychological etc.) and ensure they are referred to the concerned specialist.
ü  Facilitate and monitor activities related to patient care and set standards for accurate reporting and recording of patient symptoms, reactions and progress.
ü  Ensure staff is trained attend to patient emergencies during the dialysis procedure; and are well-versed in basic life support mechanisms like CRP.
ü  Work with the Medical Staff to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care.
ü  Organize patient care and ensures continuity of care based upon knowledge of patient needs.
ü  Evaluate patient care through assessment, planning intervention, and re-evaluating written documentation, observation and comparison to establish standards.
ü  Communicate with patient, significant others and help professionals regarding care to the patient.
ü  Provide mechanism to assure patient and significant other participation in care planning.
ü  Serve as clinical resource person and assist dialysis personnel in assessing patient.
ü  Ensure case details of individual patients are updated regularly; and handed over from shift to shift as per protocol.
PROCESS AND QUALITY
ü  Update patient history and dialysis data in Electronic Medical Reports and/ or specific files for current and future reference.
ü  Participate in quality assessment and improvement, including utilization and promotion of familiarization with quality improvement standards and programmes.
ü  Review quality improvement reports and integrate appropriate action.
ü  Provide inputs in formulating patient care policy and procedures, for patient care service and the organization.
ü  Ensure adherence to NABH standards and other relevant quality standards in all processes.
ü  Staff and Facility Management
ü  Provide inputs to Finance to prepare fiscal budgets. Monitor patient revenue, expenses and the operating expenses and provide appropriate reports to authorized person.
ü  Ensure overall hygiene and waste management process, as per protocol within the dialysis unit.
ü  Promote open communication within the unit and service, plan and conduct unit staff meeting every month; concerns to be reported to the management for adequate redressal
ü  Conduct interviews for selecting new staff and forward them to the concerned person for finalization
ü  Foster professional growth and development of the staff through identification of training needs, sponsoring training programmes, encouraging education (formal and continuing) and assessment
ü  Train and mentor junior staff; assist in preparing content for training; orientate them in the protocols and procedures of the dialysis unit.
ü  Work along with clinical instructors in planning, implementation and evaluation of staff clinical experience.
ü  Responsible for completion of regular performance evaluations for all direct reports; conduct evaluation for new staff prior to completion of probationary period.
ü  Plan and maintain adequate staffing in the unit so as to ensure continuity of medical care at all times.
